PTI, darling
- Nearly everything from Doo.Ri's 2009 resort collection is accessible, colorful, conservative, office ready, and surely to a piece bound for mass-couture outlets. I think her draping is fantastic, so a proliferation of knock-offs is welcome. Balenciaga's show, on the other hand, makes me wonder whether Cristóbal has ever seen human shoulders before. The skirts made with thick layers of leather and other heavy materials, topped off by thin spaghetti-strap tops, make his models look as if they're being squeezed out of a tube. Except for this dress, which is casual but stunning.
- ESPN has just one Longhorn senior on its draft radar: Brian Orakpo, at number 10 of 32. Yet Texas is ranked 7 and not exhibiting the same weaknesses in the backfield—plus Colt McCoy seems to finally be showing the stamina he needs to lead the team through a season. The team has several notable juniors and what seems to be a very strong sophomore class. If a Lache Seastrunk were to walk on next year ready to play the running-back slot—which even Greg Davis says is a mess—we could be looking at a very competitive 2010 season. As it stands I think McCoy isn't getting enough credit in matchup predictions against Missouri, Tech, and of all schools Kansas. Also: Hook 'em Texas woo!
