Vice City Bike Stunt

Last year I spent an unreasonable amount of money in Miami on cabs, often only to idle in Miami traffic, which is worse that I'd ever been lead to believe. The fairs advertise shuttles between South Beach and the Wynwood District, but I found that they never arrived. So this year i'm thinking about renting a bicycle, or, if that's not an easy option, buying some beater from a pawn shop or secondhand store, just for the week. Miami's flat, so getting around by bike should be easy—thing is, I don't remember seeing anyone actually riding a bike while I was there, so I'm wondering if a bike isn't a good prospect for some reason. Too much sand and not enough road? Too many little friends to say hello to? Anyone know?

This is a reasonable depiction of what I'm hoping to accomplish (soundtrack included).

Hey,
I'm looking into renting a bike, but for riding not just to get around. I haven't had much luck yet. I'll keep you posted.

That looks dangerous. Be careful.

Okay—let me know what you find out, ken. I googled around and found this place—might be an option for you?

I'm only looking for something with two wheels that aren't flat. I doubt I'll have any time for any serious riding, but maybe we can go ride bikes some morning while we're there.

You could always give in to temptation and buy a new toy. You can take them on the Metro at rush hour, too!

Totally reasonable item on the expense report.

I'd buy one of those in a heartbeat if they made the Transformers transforming sound when they fold up.

But I need something I can crash, preferably onto a nice soft sandcastle.

Thanks D.Billy for the lead on renting a scooter in Miami! I hope they still have some pink ones left for me.

Dr. Mario, Dr. Dre.

Why rent a bike when you can rent a Lamborghini instead?

My favorite moment (perhaps unintentional) was when the "dramatic" moment of the song (where he says "I put my trust in you" really loud) matches up with the chef character doing a stunt.

Why not overlay a Linkin Park video with music from Mario?

I wanted something that was easier to park, dear. Otherwise I'd just take my jet.

FYI, Florida is #1 in the nation for bicycling fatalities, especially the "urban" areas!! It's a jungle out there, and the redneck who runs into you in his pickup truck won't even stop to see what he hit! I used to live in, and ride a bike daily in, Manhattan, but now that I live in FLA, I don't ride anymore... ever!
