The levees won't hold . . .

. . . but Chicago's defense will! Hook 'em Bears! Sexy Rexy may very well be the spottiest, most frustrating athlete in the NFL (as if on cue, Grossman overthrows the end zone), but Chicago's got Cedric Benson and Nathan Vasher and when I don't have a stake in the contest, a strong Longhorn contingent is enough for me. In the AFC, the Patriots and Colts—really, Tom Brady and Peyton Manning—are both so intolerable that one can only root for injuries and penalties.

Pics from last night's party at the Heart of Dupont. Oh, and if you attended and left with my iPod, I'd like that back please and thank you.

You realize that this is a total freebie for Pats fans, right? We're supposed to be done already. And rightly! Only the most delusional NE fan would have picked this year's team to get this far. So no matter that nothing seems to excite the media commentators more than the possibility of an Indianapolis victory--if it happens, it happens. We tried to save you from a Manning SuperBowl, and if you don't appreciate that fact, you will in time. And if it doesn't happen, that means we could have a chance at no. 4 in the most gratifying way possible: not only a victory over the Colts, but a Bears-Patriots SuperBowl rematch. Revenge would be sweet.

Chicago rolls with Thomas Jones, homes. Keep that in mind. Plus, dontcha need a couple extra hands to count the number of times Berrian has bailed out Rex? Damn. That's gross, man. But Bernie Berrian is up on ur gridironz, snarin' your overthrowz.

Sorry I missed the party and an opportunity to take a bite outta crime. Tech rehearsal. I'm still at the theatre. It's snowing now. WTF. Anyhoo, GO PATRIOTS.

Chicago Bears: a category 5 storm!

That was some sweet fourth quarterness. Walking out of my apartment in lakeview I heard gunshots. They're going to rip this city block from block.

On a side note, excellent facial hair my man. Christine exclaimed "oh my god!" when she saw it, but in a good way.

It looks like the Bearded-With-Glasses contingent was grossly underrepresented. Shame I was stuck in Baltimore...

-were you drinking from inverted pineapples or having fruit salad

-how did you feed so many people with such a small (though good looking) cake.

Pinapple chalices! And no one but a select few tasted the cake.

Later, a friend brought a vegan cheesecake. Sidebar: I think it's strange that vegetarians and vegans make so much of their food to resemble the dishes from which they abstain. It was pretty tasty, though.
