Gmail Fraud

Gizmodo notes that Gmail invites are being misdirected out of Hotmail and Yahoo! inboxes by spam filters. Gizmodo reports problems only with invites, and not only have I had that problem, but my regular correspondence is being blocked by certain e-mail service filters. My theory is that it has something to do with the cookie system Gmail uses in order to tailor advertisements to users' tastes, but consider mine an uninformed guess at best.

So if I haven't replied to your e-mail, well . . . most likely that's due to the fact that I'm awful at correspondence. But just maybe I did, and it was a thoughtful and engaging reply, and you threw it out with the garbage. What we have here is a failure to communicate.

cookies don't get transmitted in email, so I don't think it's that. it'd be very weird for a major email provider's messages to be blocked without the problem getting fixed quickly (the gmail invites are another matter). your messages should still be recoverable from the spam folders of yahoo and hotmail, though. If they aren't showing up there, then perhaps there's a problem with how your browser renders gmail... gmail uses a lot of javascript on the page, and it's entirely possible that if your javascript implementation is slightly weird it could look like messages are being sent when they actually aren't.

Yeah, its not the cookies. Unfortunately good email gets shoved around by spam filters all the time. I doubt really doubt it has anything to do with providers trying to hide correspondence from gmail accounts. If anything, it might just be picking up on keywords within the body and/or subject and filtering based on those. What I'm trying to say here: Kriston, please stop sending me emails with subjects like "Young Sexy Virgin Beast Loving Penis Enlargers on Viagra."

On another gmail related note: I still haven't gotten any response from the folks at google concerning the RSS feed issue that hands out the usernames/passwords for about 25 or so users.

What I think you're both saying is: No cookies for me.
